To celebrate the promotion of FC Schalke 04 to the Bundesliga, Lunatx SFX created an emotional drone show above Gelsenkirchen. 702 synchronized LED drones transformed the sky into a blue-and-white spectacle of light, music and football culture — featuring iconic club visuals, animated choreographies and what was likely the world’s first drone show karaoke.
In front of thousands of fans, a timecode-synchronized production celebrated the return of one of Germany’s most historic football clubs to the Bundesliga. Combining emotional club moments, anthem-like sky visuals and interactive sing-along elements, the show merged modern drone technology with the unique fan culture of the Ruhrgebiet.

The timecode-synchronized drone show told the story of Schalke’s promotion with large-scale club visuals, animated sky imagery and emotional choreographies above the audience. A special highlight was what was likely the world’s first drone show karaoke: song lyrics and visual elements were staged in sync with the music in the sky, inviting thousands of fans to sing along together.
