FAQ – 10 Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I request a drone show?

Ideally, at least 6–8 weeks before the desired date. In exceptional cases, shorter notice is possible, depending on the location, permit situation and scope of the show.

How many drones do I need for my show?

That depends on the desired visual impact. Logos or texts require, for example, 200–300 drones, large images or choreographies require 500 or more. We will advise you individually on the calculation of the optimal number of drones.

How much does a drone show cost?

The costs depend, among other things, on the number of drones, the design effort, the location, the approval requirement and the show length. We will provide you with a tailor-made quote that is transparent and has no hidden costs.

Can a drone show take place in any weather conditions?

Our LED show drones V3 are Weatherproof and can also be used for rain as well as wind up to 50 km/h. Only in the event of severe storms or thunderstorms is take-off not possible for safety reasons.



Do I need a special area or infrastructure on site?

No – we do not require generators, wooden platforms, or complex structures. The drones take off (almost magically) directly from their transport cases, saving space and requiring minimal technical infrastructure. We will coordinate the exact area with you in advance.



Who takes care of permits and safety?

We take care of all technical planning and communication with authorities and create a security plan including airspace clearance and risk assessment. You don’t have to worry about anything.

Can we preview or approve the show?

Yes! Before the actual show day, you will receive a 3D preview or a simulation video in which you can view and approve all elements of the show. Upon request, we can offer a 1:1 test flight at your location the day before or a test flight of your show at our airfield in Düsseldorf.

Where can a drone show take place?

Basically anywhere – whether in the city centre, at a stadium, festival grounds or lakeside. The key factors are visibility and safety distances and feasibility in the airspace. We will check this for you individually in advance.

Is it possible to combine this with fireworks or a light show?

Yes! Lunatx has over 30 years of experience in pyrotechnics, lighting design, and special effects. We offer complete multimedia productions in which drones, fireworks, lighting, and sound are perfectly coordinated.
